Nina Meinke has reported on social media that her battle with Argentina’s Daniela Bermudez for the vacant IBF featherweight title on September 21 will be fought over 12-threes.
Germany’s Meinke, 18-3 (4 KOs), was due to challenge Amanda Serrano in March only for the bout to be cancelled minutes before the opening bell due to Serrano suffering from ongoing eye complications. Bermudez, 32-4-3 (12 KOs), has held belts at junior bantamweight, bantamweight and junior featherweight but lost to Serrano in a previous bid for a featherweight strap.
Meinke-Bermudez will take place at the Alsterdorfer Halle in Hamburg, Germany, on a P2M promotion.
Bidding farewell in her hometown, on the same show, will be Dilar Kisikyol, 10-0 (2 KOs), who takes on Belgian Djemilla Gontaruk, 16-10-2 (2 KOs).
Also in action is heavyweight Peter Kadiru, 18-1 (10 KOs), who’s currently sparring Anthony Joshua in the UK. The 27-year-old German is expected to defeat Syrian-born countryman Djuar El Scheich whose record stands at 22-0-1 (21 KOs) – but don’t let those stats fool you.
Another bout of note sees German heavyweight champion Viktor Jurk, 9-0 (7 KOs), defend his title against Edonis Berisha, 8-1 (7 KOs).
