Catterall vs. Prograis will headline this Saturday, October 26th, at the Co-op Live Arena in Manchester, England. The event will be shown live on DAZN.

Catterall’s Manager Says Prograis “Flattens” Him

The recording was from before Sam became Catterall’s manager, but he still thinks the former two-time light welterweight champion Prograis (29-2, 24 KOs) has Jack’s number. That’s got to hurt. Catterall now knows that Sam has no confidence in him, or at least he didn’t before he became his manager.

When the New Orleans, Louisiana native Prograis is firing on all cylinders, he’s on a talent level different from Catterall, a basic Shakur Stevenson knock-off fighter. Catterall is the UK’s version of Shakur, albeit with slower reflexes and more prone to hold.

#2 WBC, #2 WBO, #3 IBF, and #5 WBA Catterall (29-1, 13 KOs) hopes to use the 35-year-old Prograis as a springboard to get a world title shot next against IBF champion Liam Paro.

Catterall believes he’s going to school Prograis like Devin Haney did last year on December 9th in their headliner at the Chase Center in San Francisco, California.

Regis Prograis: “A long time ago, Sam Jones, his manager, said I would beat Jack’s a**, and I got proof right now if y’all want to hear it. He said,’Flatten him.”

Sam Jones: “I never said that. Listen, you’ve been hit in the head too many times by Devin Haney, my friend.”

Prograis: “Watch this. Listen, everybody, be quiet.”

Sam: “I like Jack, by the way. I know him very well, but I do think you flatten him. You’re a different guy than Josh Taylor.”

Eddie Hearn: “We just need to hear it one more time.”

Sam: “Regis, I’ve got messages from you, so think very carefully before you play that. This is before I knew Jack. I never met Jack before.”

Prograis: “You never met Jack?”

If the Prograis from two years ago shows up on Saturday, Catterall is going to be in a lot of trouble. The power, aggression, and talent of the old version of Prograis are leagues above Catterall. There’s no comparison. When Prorais was at his best between 2016 and 2022, he was a much better fighter than Catterall.
