PromoBoxe won purse bids for a fight between the European bantamweight champion Charlie Edwards (20-1) and his mandatory challenger Vincenzo Picardi (11-0).
Mario Loreni’s organisation intends on staging the contest on February 21 in Casoria, Italy, after their successful offer of €28,250. Wasserman Sports had bid €22,305.
It, regardless, had already been announced that Edwards will fight Andrew Cain in Liverpool on March 15, for the British and Commonwealth titles.
The German heavyweight Granit Shala (17-1) put his career back on track on Saturday night in Karlsruhe, Germany with a points victory over Daniel Dietz (13-1).
Shala was knocked out by the Ukrainian Olekesandr Zakhozhyzi in a fight for the vacant European title earlier in 2025. However, against Dietz, Shala showed good hand speed and timing, and beat the bigger fighter to the punch time and time again – and looked like a clear winner at the final bell, even though the judges were split in their verdict.
The French junior middleweight Priscilla Peterle (11-0) has relinquished the European title she won in April 2022. The EBU was unable to ever produce a mandatory challenger, contributing to Peterle never defending the title.
