Eddie Hearn calls Tyson Fury a tease for publicly posting his boxing workouts when he’s supposedly retired.
It’s no secret that Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn would love to make a big fight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, and he’s hoping Fury will just let them know one way or the other about his interest in making it happen.
Fury (again) announced his retirement after his latest loss to Oleksandr Usyk but many don’t quite take that all too seriously as Fury is known to waver on that topic quite frequently. Lately Fury has been posting videos of him back in the boxing gym for the world to see, and many see that as an indication that he might just want to continue his fighting career.
“I feel like Tyson Fury’s a bit of a tease really, isn’t he? I mean, all we see on Instagram is him,” Hearn told Sky Sports. “Even today, I’ve come out of the press conference, went on Instagram, he’s there with his wraps on doing 12 rounds of boxing. Why are you doing this to us? What are you doing? Are you just deliberately playing with our minds or are you coming back? Just let us know either way. Put us out of our misery.”
Hearn would say that Joshua is due to undergo a small procedure on his elbow but will be ready to go after September, saying the opportunity is there to put this fight together. By Hearn’s estimation, a Fury vs Joshua fight is not only the biggest fight to make in England, but the entire world at the moment.
If Fury ultimately decides to forego a fight against Joshua, Hearn says they may pursue a fight against Dillian Whyte or Daniel Dubois, but Fury is still certainly their preference.
