Ryan Garcia showed off his “Rematch me, b***” t-shirt to Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis last Saturday night, letting know the ‘Face of Boxing’ that he wants a second chance to fight him.

Tank mentioned Ryan as one of three possibilities for his next fight, along with Vasily Lomachenko and Shakur Stevenson. It’s believed that Tank will decide between Ryan and IBF lightweight champion Lomachenko.
Ringside Challenge
Garcia climbed up on the ring apron moments after WBA ‘regular’ lightweight champion Tank Davis (30-0, 28 KOs) knocked out Frank Martin in the eighth round at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
While some fans would see Ryan’s behavior as begging, he’s arguably a bigger star than Tank Davis due to his 12 million Instagram followers and his ability to encourage them to purchase his events on PPV.
Having a loyal following like Ryan makes him the ‘Face of Boxing’ in terms of marketability, the guy that Tank can make the most money fighting. In contrast, Tank Davis has 7 million followers on Instagram.
The way that Tank was annoyed and dismissive when Shakur’s name was brought up at the post-fight press conference, it’s clear that he won’t be next.
If Tank is going to fight Lomachenko (18-3, 12 KOs), he needs to do it soon because the Ukrainian fighter is 36. If he waits too long, he won’t be credited for beating him.
Lomachenko has been pressing for a fight against Tank for six years since 2018, and it’s almost pointless for it to happen now.
Tank’s Confidence and Disdain for Rematch
“Ryan? He’s crazy. He was talking about a rematch. He said I was the best at 135 and 140, too,” Tank Davis said to the media last Saturday night about Ryan Garcia. “He says he wants to fight me again? I’ll kick his a** again.”
It might be a mistake for Tank Davis not to fight Ryan Garcia next because the popular social media star’s behavior since his win over Devin Haney suggests that he’s beginning to crumble from the weight of his newfound fame and could lose his next fight if he’s not putting in the time in the gym.
With all the traveling Ryan has been doing since his win over Haney, it doesn’t appear he’s spending much time in the gym.
