Australia’s Sam Goodman, the leading contender to Naoya Inoue at junior bantamweight according to the IBF and WBO, has made weight ahead of his 12-rounder with Thailand’s Thachtana Luangphon on Wednesday (July 10).
The 25-year-old Goodman, 18-0 (8 KOs), from Albion Park, New South Wales, weighed 121 3/4lbs with Luangphon a shade lighter at 121 1/2lbs. Their contest, at the WIN Entertainment Center in Wollongong, is set for 12 rounds.
On the undercard, Liam Wilson is looking to rebuild at lightweight following his March loss to Oscar Valdez down at super-featherweight. The 28-year-old, 13-3 (7 KOs), takes on Yousef Dib, 21-1 (11 KOs), over 10 rounds. Wilson weighed right on the division limit at 135lbs whereas Dib came in three quarters of a pound over for the 10-rounder.
