Tyson Fury’s brother, Shane Fury, is predicting Tyson will do a “demolish job” on Oleksandr Usyk on Saturday night in their 12-round headliner in Riyadh.
Unfortunately, Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) hasn’t demolished anyone in years, and I don’t expect him to do a number on a talent like IBF/WBA/WBO champion Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs).
Whatever chances of WBC heavyweight champion Fury knocking out Usyk went out the window with his dramatic weight loss.
He looks thin and weak now, and it doesn’t seem feasible that the thinned-out version of Fury we saw today in his open workout will be able to generate enough power to make a dent in Usyk’s chin on Saturday night.
Fury obviously needs a knockout because if the fight goes 12 rounds, his chances of losing will soar due to Usyk outboxing him. Usyk will likely be winning most of the rounds based on his superior boxing skills, conditioning, and the fast pace he sets.
“Tyson is not taking this fight no different than any other fight, but he’s in good spirits, and we’re super confident,” said Shane Fury, the brother of Tyson Fury, speaking to iFL TV about his fight against Oleksandr Usyk on Saturday night.
It’s obvious that Fury is taking this fight seriously because he wouldn’t have lost all that weight and postponed the previously scheduled fight if he wasn’t excited about this match. With the money the Saudis are paying Fury, he better take the fight seriously.
“I’m more confident than I’ve ever been. More than the Wilder fight because Wilder brought an element of danger. We’re not deluded that if Usyk hits you on the chin, set up, and loaded up, he’s going to knock you out,” said Shane.
“I’m just confident. I can see it being a demolish job easy fight,” said Shane about his belief that Fury could destroy Usyk.
