Sunny Edwards was narrowly lighter than Galal Yafai for Saturday’s flyweight fight at Resorts World Arena in Birmingham, England.

The 28-year-old Edwards was 111lbs. Yafai, 31, was 111.4lbs.

The one-time amateur rivals fight in Yafai’s home city on the occasion of Yafai’s ninth professional contest, and Edwards’ second since his only defeat – via stoppage, in December 2023, by the great Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez.

Callum Smith, in his first fight since being stopped in January by Artur Beterbiev, and ahead of reports of a potential date in 2025 with his fellow Briton Joshua Buatsi, fights Carlos Galvan of Colombia.

There is also a professional debut for the Welsh super middleweight Taylor Bevan, against Greg O’Neil, of England.
