Teofimo Lopez Jnr has tipped Saul “Canelo” Alvarez to triumph over Terence Crawford should the two superstars ever fight.

Crawford of Omaha, Nebraska, has been calling out Mexico’s Alvarez since snatching the WBA 154lbs title from Israil Madrimov in August. Crawford expressed readiness to move up to 168 to challenge Alvarez.

According to Lopez, the momentum behind the prospective showdown is growing.

“It looks like that fight could actually happen,” said Lopez in an interview with Fight Hype TV. “It’s gonna probably possibly happen.”

Alvarez, 62-2-2, (39 KOs), is yet to announce his next fight since earning a one-sided victory over Edgar Berlanga to retain his WBC and WBO super middleweight titles in September.

Meanwhile, Crawford fought only once this year, recording a 12-round unanimous decision win over Madrimov in August.

“I still think Canelo wins,” Lopez concluded.
