Edgar Berlanga believes we’ll see the best version of himself yet when he takes on Canelo, Sep. 14.

As we head towards Mexican Independence Day weekend where Canelo Alvarez will be challenged by Edgar Berlanga, Matchroom Boxing takes us behind the scenes of Berlanga’s training camp where he prepares for the sternest challenge of his career by far.

“People don’t understand I’m getting better and better,” Berlanga said. “Who I was in my last fight is not who I’m going to be September 14. This is a chance to prove I’m one of the best in the sport of boxing. A lot of people got a question mark on my head right now. That question mark is going to be removed with me fighting a legend.

“I’m going to be a way-seasoned Edgar Berlanga, so that’s what’s dangerous about me. A lot of these guys at that level, they stuck in what they do with the same repetition, the same everything. And with me, I’m like a sponge, I keep getting better, keep getting better, keep getting better. There’s no stopping me.”

Berlanga and his team, who have been training at high altitude in Colorado, believe they will be plenty well conditioned for a hard fought fight next weekend, but say if Canelo comes out to mix it up with Berlanga early, Canelo will be getting stopped.
