Oscar Valdez wants to avenge his previous loss to WBO super featherweight champion Emanuel Navarrete, while Robeisy Ramirez hopes to even the score against World Boxing Organization 126-lb belt holder Rafael Espinoza in their rematch tonight. These two fights are interchangeable in terms of main event status.
The event begins at 10:30 p.m. ET, and results will be shown below.
Tonight’s card on ESPN & ESPN+
- Emanuel Navarrete vs. Oscar Valdez: 12 rounds for Navarrete’s WBO 130-lb belt
- Rafael Espinoza vs. Robeisy Ramirez: 12-round rematch. WBO 126-lb title at stake.
The event will be at the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona.
Valdez & Robeisy Seek Revenge
Of the two fights, many fans are interested in seeing how well the two-time Cuban Olympic gold medalist Ramirez (14-2, 9 KOs) does because he was a heavy favorite in going into a match against Espinoza (25-0, 21 KOs) last year on December 9th.
The 6’1″ Espinoza surprised Ramirez with his high output and superior stamina. Literally, Ramirez couldn’t keep up with the Mexican warrior both in output and conditioning in the late rounds.
In the main event, Valdez (33-2, 24 KOs) will have a hard time dealing with the WBO super featherweight champion Navarrete’s size, power, and volume punching.
A year ago, Valdez was overmatched in every department, losing a wide 12-round unanimous decision to Navarrete on August 12th in Glendale, Arizona.
