His Excellency Turki Alalshikh revealed that he plans to have Anthony Joshua fight the Filip Hrgovic vs Daniel Dubois winner on September 21st at Wembley Stadium in London and then fight the winner of the second clash between heavyweight Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk in the first quarter of 2025.

Joshua vs. Hrgovic-Dubois Winner: Wembley Showdown

Alalshikh laid out his plans to Ariel Helwani for what he refers to as a “crazy card” on September 20th or 21st in Wembley. On that date, Joshua will fight the Hrgovic-Dubois winner.

There’s going to be a lot on the line for the former two-time heavyweight champion Joshua (28-3, 25 KOs) when he fights in September. The money that will be at stake with Joshua fighting will unreal, especially if Fury emerges as the winner of his second fight with Usyk.

Dubois (20-2, 19 KOs) is fighting Hrgovic (17-0, 14 KOs) next month on June 1st on a stacked card at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh.  That’s a fight that many expect the 2016 Olympic bronze medalist Hrgovic to win, but you never know.

Dubois is young, fast, powerful, and big. If he can avoid Hrgovic’s rabbit punches, he’s got a chance to win. With a good referee working the fight, one that polices illegal rabbit punching, Dubois has an excellent chance of defeating Hrgovic.

Potential Outcomes and Implications

Unfortunately, if Joshua is beaten by the Hrgovic-Dubois winner and if Fury is defeated by Usyk in their second fight, it might not be a massive event in the first half of 2025, at least from the British fans’ perspective.

It’s quite possible that when the dust settles, we could see Hrgvovic fighting Usyk in the first quarter of 2025 with Joshua and Fury both having been eliminated by then.

That might not make British fans happy to see Joshua and Fury both defeated, but it wouldn’t bother U.S. boxing fans, who aren’t as enamored with those two.

U.S fans just want to see the best and they’re not going to back whoever based on nationalizes. Whoever are the last two fighters standing will be the ones that U.S fans want to see.

There’s also the possibility that Usyk and Joshua will meet for a trilogy match in the first quarter of 2025. Boxing fans would not be eager to see that fight, given that Usyk has already twice beaten Joshua and would be expected to defeat him a third time.
