His Excellency Turki Alalshikh posted on social media today, urging boxing legend Mike Tyson to “forget the script” and beat Jake Paul in their professional boxing match on July 20th on Netflix PPV at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Fans will be paying a lot of money to watch the fight on PPV and the last thing they want is to purchase a fight with a pre-determined outcome.

Fan Perception of a “Scripted” Fight

The perception that many fans have is this scripted fight between the YouTuber turned boxer Jake Paul and 58-year-old former unified heavyweight champion Mike Tyson (50-6, 44 KOs).

Fans feel the match is rigged like like a professional wrestling match where there’s already an agreement and they don’t see the 27-year-old Jake and Tyson going all out in the fight.

One reason fans believe the fight is scripted is Mike Tyson’s eight-round exhibition match against Roy Jones Jr. in 2020. In that match, Tyson wasn’t throwing headshots and appeared to be going easy on him, not throwing with power. The fight was scored a draw, and fans were angry about it.

When fans see stuff like that, trust goes out the window. Jake is seen by some fans as a guy who hustles and fights, picking out old ex-MMA guys to fight in boxing matches. You can’t knock Jake for his hustle. Two years ago, Forbes estimated that Jake had already made $40 million. That number has likely increased substantially since.

Alalshikh’s Plea and Paul’s Retort

“Please, brother Mike, forget the script and beat this guy!” said His Excellency Turki Alalshikh on X, referring to wanting Mike Tyson to defeat Influencer Jake Paul on July 20th.

“F*** the haters that are saying this is scripted,” said Jake Paul on X.

It’s a situation where Jake is going to take a heap of criticism if he knocks out the legend Mike Tyson because of his age. He’s almost 60, hasn’t fought in nearly 20 years, and was considered shot back in 2004. To have a YouTuber who has never fought a world-class boxer beat Tyson would be disappointing.

If Jake loses to Tyson, that would be bad for his career, but not necessarily. Fans don’t take Jake seriously anyway as a boxer because he’s not actually fighting boxers other than Tommy Fury, who is just seen as the brother of Tyson Fury and not rated as a world-class fighter. He’s a domestic-level British fighter who will never be a top-tier guy, and Jake was beaten by Him.
