Fury and Usyk are back at it next month in Saudi Arabia. After Usyk schooled Fury in the latter half of their last fight—leaving Fury clinging to the ropes in the ninth round—people wondered if Fury was injured.
Fury was quick to squash the rumors, though, casually brushing off concerns: “There was nothing wrong with my nose, just a bit of blood,” he told TNT Sports Boxing. “It wasn’t broken.” Just your standard nose smash, apparently.
Despite probably being the underdog (ouch), Fury’s still brimming with confidence, pointing to past rematch wins over McDermott, Chisora, and Wilder. He says it’s been a while since he wasn’t the favorite: “It was very close last time. A bit more focused, and I should do the job. Nothing drastic has to change… If it was my time, I’d have won then. I’m happy Usyk got the decision—it was meant to be.”
We’ll see if he thinks it’s “meant to be” again on December 21.
