Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk 2’s Press Conference will be held tomorrow, Wednesday, October 24th, to begin promoting their rematch on December 21st at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The event will be at 5:00 pm UK time and noon ET.

It’s reasonable to assume that Fury will be his usual self, telling jokes and getting the media into it the rematch. During the press conferences, he was a one-man show for his first fight with Usyk on May 18th.

Is Fury’s Punch Resistance Gone?

This time, Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) might be a little more serious because he took a loss in that fight, losing a 12-round split decision, and he still believes he won.

It remains to be seen if he can improve because he’s 36 and has looked subpar in the last two fights against Usyk and Francis Ngannou. Blaming it on being out of shape won’t work because this is two fights, not one, and he’s getting older.

What was troubling about his fight against Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) was how he was hurt in the ninth round, and that shouldn’t have happened against this level of a puncher.

Some believe that the damage that Fury took in his trilogy with Deontay Wilder has caused deterioration in his punch resistance, and it’s showing up now. It echoes Fury’s brain, making him vulnerable against almost anyone who can land a clean headshot.

“A man ready to do redemption for himself to get three of the belts back, and to avenge his defeat,” said Gareth A. Davies to Boxing King Media about what to expect from Tyson Fury during this Wednesday’s press conference to promote his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk on December 21st.

“He’ll be looking to get his career back on track. Obviously, he just started camp. I hear from Spencer Brown, his manager, that he’s in a great mood,” Gareth continued about Fury. “I think it’ll be all singing and all dancing on Wednesday. There’ll be lots of entertainment.

“He’ll have a lot of respect for Oleksandr Usyk, even though a lot of things he says don’t come across as respectful. He’ll be selling it. He’ll make it the Tyson Fury show. You watch. He loves to be in front of the cameras. He’ll be paid handsomely for the rematch. He’ll want to win it. I think they’ll do a trilogy if he does win,” said Gareth.
