UKAD will not appeal NADP’s decision to allow Conor Benn back, although WADA still could

UK Anti-Doping will not file an appeal with the National Anti-Doping Panel concerning the continuation of the in-ring career of Conor Benn.

Benn, who in recent weeks has been linked to early 2025 fights with Chris Eubank Jnr and WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios, could still find his route back to the ring blocked by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) should they appeal, but his return appears imminent, having cleared another hurdle with UKAD opting to not further challenge the NADP.

Benn failed two tests for the banned substance clomifene in 2022. 

“UKAD has completed its review of the decision of the independent National Anti-Doping Panel (NADP) dated 6 November 2024 concerning professional boxer Mr Conor Benn,” read a UKAD statement. “Following the expiry of UKAD’s appeal deadline yesterday, we can confirm that UKAD has decided not to file an appeal with the National Anti-Doping Panel. 

“As with all anti-doping cases and in accordance with the UK Anti-Doping Rules, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has a separate right of appeal and an extended deadline to file any appeal.”
