Someone tell me when heavyweight boxing turned into a Saturday night pub scrap with judges. Brandon Moore vs. Skylar Lacy wasn’t a fight—it was pure embarrassment, a comedy act so ridiculous, even the referee probably wanted to walk out.
Let’s start with Moore (17-1), the man who technically won. I say “won,” but let’s be real—he got ragdolled, bear-hugged, and yeeted out of the ring like someone getting chucked from a nightclub. The bloke looked like he was waiting for a real fight to break out, but nope, all he got was an overenthusiastic cuddle session with a man who clearly had no idea what sport he was competing in.
And then we’ve got Lacy (8-1-2). Oh, Lacy. A man so determined to make this fight unwatchable that he racked up three separate holding violations—which, honestly, is impressive. Three. You’ve got to try to be that bad at boxing. Maybe he thought the ref was just giving friendly warnings. Maybe he thought it was a best-of-five. Either way, he just kept grappling like a lost MMA fighter.
And just when you thought it couldn’t get worse, he goes full WWE, picks Moore up, and launches him through the ropes into the announcers’ table. I mean, mate, if you wanted to fight outside the ring, just go have a punch-up in the car park like normal people.
The ref, bless his patience, starts counting. Gets to 15 before realizing Moore isn’t getting up because Lacy is still lying on top of him like a collapsed wardrobe. So, with zero better options, he does what any sane man would do—disqualifies Lacy for being an absolute muppet.
Moore wins, if you want to call it that. Boxing loses. The sport’s dignity packed its bags and left the building the second Lacy turned into a human battering ram.
