Coming up on August 3rd from BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, California, in a championship contest that will be streamed on DAZN PPV – WBA junior middleweight champion Israil ‘The Dream’ Madrimov will defend his title against Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford.
Crawford is widely viewed as one of the greatest pound for pound boxers competing today, and not without damn good reason! Crawford’s professional record stands at a perfect 40-0 with 31 wins coming by way of knockout. Bud is a 3 division world champion, winning championships at lightweight, junior welter, and welterweight. More impressive still, Crawford became the first undisputed champion at both 140 and 147 during the modern 4-belt era, and he was likewise the first boxer to become a 2-division undisputed world champion in the modern 4-belt era. For Crawford, this fight represents the opportunity for him to become a 4-division world champion.
On the other side Madrimov is far less known and far less experienced. His professional record stands at 10-0-1 with 7 wins coming by way of knockout. And while Crawford has won all of his 18 championship fights to date, Madrimov has had just one championship bout, that coming when he last fought back in March, when he squared off against Magomed ‘Black Lion’ Kurbanov, and that was for the vacant WBA belt.
