As great, and as close, as the two fights between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano were, and as much as fans want to see a third fight between the two, promoter Frank Warren argues that a third fight between Taylor and Chantelle Cameron makes a whole lot more sense.

Warren, writing in his column for The Star, argues that Cameron, who is currently 1-1 with Taylor, deserves the rubber-match, with the fight making “more sense” than a Taylor-Serrano III. As Warren points out, Cameron is the only fighter to have picked up a win over the Irish star at pro level.

“Chantelle Cameron is ready and waiting for the trilogy clash with Katie Taylor,” Warren writes. “There’s no fight out there which makes more sense than a clash with Cameron for the Irish fighter. I’ve seen plenty of talk this week about a third bout with Amanda Serrano after their thrilling fight in Dallas. But Taylor is 2-0 against the Puerto Rican – why would they have a third showdown? Queensbury star Cameron is the only woman to have a win over Taylor in the paid ranks.”

Warren sure makes a good point, even if both Taylor and Serrano have called for a third fight between them to happen. Yes, Taylor is 2-0 over Serrano, but plenty of people feel quite strongly that Serrano deserved the decision in the rematch, with some people feeling Serrano won the first fight also. We will have to see what happens, and in truth we fans would for sure watch either third fight, Taylor-Cameron III or Taylor-Serrano III. Or both.

But can both trilogy fights take place? How many more great fights has 38 year old Taylor got left in her after having engaged in some tough, tough battles? Warren, though, says a third fight between Cameron is not only the fight that makes sense but is an “easy fight to make.”

“Now I’m on good terms with Taylor’s promoter Eddie Hearn, it should be an easy fight to make,” Warren writes. “The phone is on and we’re ready and waiting.”

Let’s see which fight Taylor, who seems to be in the driving street here as she is the biggest star of the three fighters, goes with next.
