Dillian Whyte is formally scheduled to face hard-charging Joe Joyce on April 5th.
Queensberry promotions has their next big card scheduled for April 5 in Manchester, England, bolstered by some heavyweight action. The main attraction, as reported by ESPN, will be a fight between Dillian Whyte taking on Joe Joyce, along with Lawrence Okolie facing Richard Riakporhe as chief support.
Whyte (31-3, 28KOs) has won three straight fights since getting stopped by Tyson Fury in 2022, and will be in against Joyce (16-3, 15KOs) which should make for a fan-friendly style matchup. Joyce, known as a rugged come-forward puncher most recently lost a decision to Derek Chisora last July and three of his last four fights (two by way of knockout).
Joyce does, however, have a tune-up fight on March 1 against Patrick Korte so has the opportunity to build some momentum and confidence before taking on Chisora on what will be a short turnaround.
Meanwhile Okolie (21-1, 16 KOs) has two first round stoppages since dropping a majority decision to Chris Billam-Smith in 2023 while Riakphore (17-1. 13 KOs) is trying to bounce back from a June 2024 loss to Billam-Smith as well.
Rounding out the heavyweight card will be David Adalaye taking on Jeamie “TKV” Tshikeva.
