Yankiel Rivera will compete in a flyweight bout against Angel Gonzalez on December 7 at the Roberto Clemente Coliseo in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

The DAZN-streamed event will be headlined by Liam Paro making a first defense of his junior welterweight title against Richardson Hitchins.

Rivera, 27, is ranked No. 3 by the WBA, No. 9 by the WBC and No. 11 by the WBO. He holds a 6-0 (2 KOs) and is fighting at home for the second time this year, defeating Victor Sandoval earlier this year. The 31-year-old Gonzalez, 14-0 (7 KOs) – a Hartford, Connecticut, native of Puerto Rican descent – will be aiming to pull off an upset.

“The goal for which I embarked on this wonderful journey full of hope is closer than ever,” said Rivera. “Each fight gets me closer to that cherished and long-awaited opportunity for a world title. On December 7, I will be putting my titles on the line, but I will also be disputing the WBC Silver title. This victory will propel me right at the door of that world title opportunity.”

“This fight means everything to me,” said Gonzalez. “The best thing about it is, I’m fighting in my island of Puerto Rico. The boxing energy in Puerto Rico is unparalleled, and it will give me more confidence and motivation to show all my people how great I am.”

The undercard features Marc Castro, 13-0 (8 KOs), against Agustin Quintana, 20-1-2 (13 KOs), in a 10-round lightweight bout, and Stephanie Pineiro, 7-0 (2 KOs), facing Ogleidis Suarez, 30-5-1 (14 KOs), in an eight-round welterweight fight. In a junior lightweight clash, Henry Lebron, 19-0 (10 KOs), will take on Christopher Diaz, 29-5 (19 KOs).
