Devin Haney was quick to discredit Gary Antuanne Russell following his loss to Alberto Puello.
Gary Russell Jr was quick to come to the defense of his younger brother Gary Antuanne Russell following his split decision loss to Alberto Puello over the weekend. Immediately following the loss Devin Haney took to social media to ridicule Russell, which many thought to be in poor taste if not for any other reason than Haney himself is just coming off a beating.

Upon learning of what Haney had to say, Russell Jr felt the need to respond.
“I seen Devin Haney said something like ‘Antuanne Russell is some shit and his big brother was nice, but he some shit.’ Shorty, you should’ve kept your motherf-ckin’ mouth closed. My lil’ brother is a whole f-ckin’ dog, don’t get it twisted. Don’t get bamboozled, shorty. Some of the best fighters, the greatest fighters in the world took a f-ckin’ L. That builds character to a certain extent.
“You got your ass beat. My lil’ brother went out like a f-ckin’ solider, it’s a big difference. You should’ve kept your f-ckin’ mouth closed — and you got a gift, you actually got a gift because if you knew if he would’ve won that fight that we was gonna be on your ass next. Lomachenko beat your ass, you got a gift with that.
“Since my little brother is so sh-tty, you can see him. I bet you ain’t lining up, raising your hand for that one, huh?…my little brother will still cook you.”
Haney, who is coming off a pretty brutal beating at the hands of Ryan Garcia, is hoping to have that loss overturned to a win following a failed drug test from Garcia. Meanwhile Antuanne Russell is said to be going back to the drawing board in order to come back better than ever.
