Adam Azim is looking to make a big British fight next against either Dalton Smith or Josh Taylor if he can manage it.

Fresh off of his ninth round stoppage win over Sergey Lipinets over the weekend Adam Azim is looking to make more notable fights going forward. Speaking to Sky Sports Azim says he’s proven his caliber against Lipinets and wouldn’t mind taking on domestic rival Dalton Smith.

“He doesn’t know what I have, what I’ll bring to him. All the people around him keep talking, keep talking, keep talking – you guys haven’t seen the best of me yet, that was just a little bit of me, just a little bit.”

Azim isn’t fully convinced that Smith will be up for the fight just yet, so also calls out former undisputed champion Josh Taylor who carries name value and can help validate his climb up the ladder.

“I don’t know if he’ll take it,” Azim said of Taylor. “A great fight, it’ll be a massive fight. But let’s see what he wants. Honestly let’s see what he wants. If Josh wants it, let’s have it.

Azim says he’s a legitimate threat to the entire 140 lb division and that his time will come, so for now he’s just being patient and taking what’s in front of him. Additionally, Azim’s trainer Shane McGuigan says there’s no real credibility in Azim taking on lesser domestic opposition than Dalton or Taylor at this point and would consider taking on a top American if neither of those two fights can happen.
