Muratalla vs. Farmer was initially intended as the co-feature bout for the Janibek Alimkhanuly vs. Andrei Mikhailovich main event. However, Janibek pulled out due to dehydration from cutting weight, resulting in the Muratalla-Farmer fight being moved up to Headliner.

Weights:

Raymond Muratalla 134.1 vs. Tevin Farmer 134.7
Ruben Villa 125.5 vs. Sulaiman Segawa 122.6
Charlie Sheehy 139.9 vs. Ricardo Quiroz 139.8
Art Barrera Jr. 145.4 vs. Javier Mayoral 145.7
Jonathan Lopez 130.9 vs. Leonardo Padilla 131.8
Albert Gonzalez 128.8 vs. Conrado Martinez 128.1
Israel Mercado 140.2 vs. Dondrell Haynes 139
Javier Zamarron 126.9 vs. Mikey Bracamontes 127.8

The unbeaten #2 WBC-ranked Muratalla (20-0, 16 KOs) is within range of getting a title shot against WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson. However, Murata will probably need to become mandatory to get that title shot because Shakur’s next potential promoter already has three of his next fights in mind.

Muratalla is coming from a ten-round unanimous decision win over Xolisani Ndongeni on March 29th in Glendale, Arizona.

The 33-year-old Farmer (33-5-1, 8 KOs) has won his last three fights to claw his way back to a top 15 ranking at lightweight after losing his IBF super featherweight title against Joseph ‘JoJo’ Diaz by a twelve-round unanimous decision on January 30, 2020.

Muratalla’s Title Aspirations

“I put in so much work. All that he was saying was that I’m going to show up on Saturday, and I’m going to put in a show,” said Muratalla to Sean Zittel about some of the comments that Farmer had made during the final press conference.

“That’s going to make the win so much better, but I’m ready. I’m good. He fights good. He’s slick, like you said. I just think I’m fully prepared for this fight. I had so many different sparring partners.

“Whatever he brings, whatever style he has for the fight, I’m ready for it. I’m going to take care of him. I know what I can do. It’s not a style that I haven’t faced before.

“I think he did what he had to do. His mindset is just to win,” said Muratalla about Shakur Stevenson in his last fight. “Against me, I’ll put on a great performance if I fight him.”
